Contribute to team through proactive learning and ideas. Ensure the quality of work issued is high and conforms to Group procedures. Seek advice and input from Senior Engineers and Team Manager where appropriate. Consolidate Group experience in discipline. Engage with more experienced team members and peers to develop an understanding of the organisation and industry trends. Provide a link between project management teams. Liaise with project management teams to clarify aspects of the work and complete tasks within the agreed timeframe. Become involved with on-going R&D programmes. Work may include design, analysis, testing or site visits to optimise pipeline design or to develop and qualify new pipeline products. Contribute to technical publications and marketing. The Pipeline Engineer will be numerate and fully computer literate and will also have familiarity with structural engineering analysis. The Pipeline Engineer will preferably have 3 years relevant experience, although graduate entry is feasible for outstanding candidates. The Pipeline Engineer must be able to apply engineering principles to the full range of offshore pipeline design and installation problems. Such problems will include but not be limited to: pipeline installation from vessels; thermal design; wall thickness design; and pipeline stability. The Pipeline Engineer will hold a high quality honours degree in Mechanical, Civil or General Engineering. The degree must contain a thorough grounding in the theory and techniques of structural engineering. Additional post-graduate qualification(s) in subsea or pipeline related engineering.
