Description: The Lead Subsea Designer is responsible for the safe and efficient control of the Drawing Office in the absence of the Drawing Office Manager. Required to assist the Drawing Office Manager in the daily tasks of managing the drawing office workload and personnel. 2. RESPONSIBILITIES " Distribution of workload on projects as in accordance with the drawing registers. " Arranging checking of drawings either by self or a senior designer with the appropriate discipline experience. " Arranging PDF copies of drawings into correct project directories & advising DCC of issues (handing over a clean A3 of the drawing & telling the Doc Controller where the pdf is stored). " Ensuring holiday cover for projects as required. " Attending kick off meetings. " Checking timesheets against clock in/out times as supplied each Monday morning & the signing off timesheets. " Ensuring engineers provide sufficient design engineering input (sketches, calcs, computer models) allowing designers to progress drawings to a satisfactory level for checking. " Encourage engineering input at early stage of design (i.e. provide engineers with first pass drawings to allow incorporation of serious comments prior to official check print issue or ask for informal design meeting). " Ensure designers adhere to the current drawing office standards. " Ensure all cad files are stored in appropriate project folders. " Provide project directory in "o" drive at the start of new projects in line with existing set up. " Ensure drawings are delivered to agreed dates within the drawing register or as requested by responsible engineer / manager. " Focal point for engineers to request new drawings / change requests / issue of drawings. " Preparation design office input to bids (i.e. drawing registers & hours) for inclusion within CTR's. " Any other duties as required The individual must possess a formal qualification in a relevant engineering discipline, Experience within Subsea engineering including pipelines and be proficient in 2D and 3D CAD. A sound understanding is required of the Draughting and AutoCAD Systems. | |
